Meet the characters... who lives in Story Street?
Sam Summerday
Sam is a very active – full of dreams and schemes – she has a great sense of fun! She is not afraid to take risks. She longs to have a pet, but she lives in an apartment. As Sam grows up, she will have to deal with her parents separation.
Jojo MacDonald
Jojo is Mouse’s outgoing twin sister who loves football and horses. Throughout the stories, Jojo shows that she can stand up for herself and her brother. They live with their mum, dad, baby brother Pip, and their pets.
Mouse MacDonald
Mouse’s real name is Mark, but Mouse suits his character better, so that’s what everyone calls him. He is a bit nervous, but he proves he can be brave when he needs to be. He is fascinated by outer space, and his bedroom is full of planet mobiles and posters. Mouse and his twin sister share everything, but as they grow up, they have to learn to be individuals.
Ben King
Ben is the oldest of the friends. He is thoughtful and perceptive, and often his quick thinking gets the friends out of trouble (usually caused by Sam). He likes playing with computers – like his Dad. His mum, Anna, is a fitness instructor and he has an older sister, Tessa, who he argues with a lot. He is close to his grandparents, who live near Story Street. He has a large cat called Fatcat.
You will meet MORE characters who are quite interesting and unique individuals!
Q: What is the target age-group for Story Street?
A: Ranges from kindergarten to above teenageers.
The Story Street series is written for children whose first language is English – as such children will be exposed to natural English expressions and speech. Regardless of age – we recommend this series to foster extensive reading.
Q: How many levels are there?
A: You can choose from twelve levels (Steps).

You can choose the level most appropriate for your child's English level. The levels are color-coded and can easily be identified on the top of the front cover (on the left side of the front cover for Step 7-12) of each title.
Q: What is the word count in each title?
A: The word count is different depending on the Step (level).
At each Step, the amount of words/sentences is controlled so that children can read with ease and independently. So that children can gain confidence and fluency, we recommend the level of the books you choose be a little easier than the child's actual reading level.
